Who is Gerard Teuling?

As agrifood sector manager, Gerard likes to share appealing practical examples and introduce new earning models in the sector. He also likes to provide an objective overview of what is going on in practice in entrepreneurial Holland. For an independent view on sustainable food, the agricultural transition and current themes such as nitrogen, climate and biodiversity, Gerard and the network are the people to turn to.

With more than 15 years of experience in sustainable food, Gerard likes to bring together his extensive knowledge and network. Together with more than 100 companies, Gerard strives for a circular and nature-inclusive food chain. This means wasting less food, eating more plant-based food and sustainable agriculture. In his words, "Together we eat the Netherlands more beautiful and healthier." From time to time, Gerard also appears in the media. Some examples:

  • "If buyers say that natural agricultural products are hardly available and farmers hesitate to go in that direction because there are not enough buyers, not enough is happening" on The Entrepreneur, following the launch of Collective Natural Food and Drink.

  • "The real solution, however, lies in the whole food chain. With buyers, with the market and with farmers. By working together on agriculture that works with nature instead of against it." at Food & Agribusiness, on making agriculture more sustainable.

  • "My tip? Engage in conversation in your chain - with an open mind. Rebuild relationships and mutual trust. And join Farmers. Naturally! or other (regional) partnerships. Only then will farmers and nature get the livelihood they deserve." in New Harvest, following new research that targets for nitrogen, climate, biodiversity and water are not being met.
