Before CSR Netherlands, Van Wersch worked at international organisation Enviu, which realised pioneering projects under her leadership. From saving billions of litres of water and reducing food waste by 98 per cent to preventing millions of packages from ending up in the ocean. And all by sustainable businesses. Before her time at Enviu, she worked in management and consultant roles at Procter & Gamble and IG&H Consulting, among others, and studied in Maastricht and the United States.
She is founder of the Tika foundation and aims to make herself redundant as a charity by 2026 by setting up schools with a simple business model in Nepal. Since 2023, she has been part of Paul Polman's IMAGINE leaders cohort, a group of business leaders who want to change the current economic system to one that does good.
"In the sustainability world, we do not dare to dream big. We are too modest, when in fact we want and need to reach the masses" in a profile on FD.
"It is up to corporate leaders not to use the new legislation as a checklist in which all the boxes are ticked. And it is up to those leaders not to be guided by the fear of encountering abuses. That's not a bad thing: it's about what you do with those abuses encountered," on the CSRD at MT/Sprout
"There are already seven generations' worth of clothes in the world. [...] People buy clothes only to wear them a few times. And that, of course, is not the intention. The government can play a role in this with legislation," about dumped clothes from China on EenVandaag.
