Meanwhile, many companies have started using it: sustainability reporting according to the CSRD. What are the main lessons from this first phase and how do politicians reflect on them? During this event, MEP Lara Wolters will join us and other politicians, entrepreneurs and experts will exchange views.
The Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) requires companies to report on their impact on the environment, human rights, social standards and work ethics based on common standards. For some companies, doing sustainability reporting is challenging, but "if you have to measure things, then you are going to engage with it and you are also going to manage it. That's just how human beings are." said MEP Lara Wolters. As shadow rapporteur, she closely monitors the progress of CSRD. How do we ensure that companies see CSRD not only as an obligation, but also as a source of new opportunities and possibilities? What does it take for companies to move beyond compliance?
This event brings together entrepreneurs, politicians, accountants and public affairs managers to take sustainability reporting out of the compliance corner and harness it for greater political and social awareness.
