There is a growing expectation that your organisation will make a positive impact on society. This requires integral cooperation with stakeholders: your colleagues, business partners, suppliers - and maybe even your neighbours. So it is important to invest in those stakeholders and to really listen to them. Not only because you want to do more than grow financially. But also because your contribution to someone else's growth and prosperity is of value - now and in the future. We call that compassionate entrepreneurship.
In this community of practice, companies inspire and activate each other to integrate thinking into their operations. Here, it is not so much about what you do, but mainly about how you do things and with whom. After all, research and practice show that compassionate entrepreneurship goes hand in hand with innovative strength, engaged employees, satisfied customers, sustainable supplier relationships, appeal as an employer and financially healthy growth. Profit on all sides, in other words.

The meetings are scheduled on four Thursdays: 14 September, 12 October, 16 November and 14 December 2023 from 1pm to 5.30pm (exact time varies per session). Concluding, there will be a closing session on Friday 9 February 2024.
Each meeting zooms in on a specific theme within compassionate entrepreneurship. And consists of plenary parts and break-out sessions. You combine theory with practical cases, with participating companies also having the space to share their own knowledge, expertise and experiences.
Day 1 | Thursday 14 September 2023 | Human Entrepreneurship: an introduction - the first day focuses on the ideas of Human Entrepreneurship. The book 'Anders groeien, een medemenselijk aanpak van duurzaam en maatschappelijk ondernemen' forms the starting point here. With Harry Hummels, professor of Ethics, Organisations and Society at Maastricht University, and Suzanne Ekel, programme manager Human Sustainable Economy at Goldschmeding Foundation.
Day 2 | Thursday 12 October 2023 | Employee: human or resource? - experts delve deeper into the role of employees as valuable stakeholders. Does an employment contract really reflect the value you place on bonding with your employees? One way of doing so is to work with conscious contracting.
Day 3 | Thursday 16 November 2023 | In conversation with chain and customer - the translation of compassionate entrepreneurship reaches all the way down the chain. This meeting focuses on (inter)national chain responsibility. How do you create a meaningful dialogue with stakeholders in the chain based on the prescribed OECD guidelines?
Day 4 | Thursday 14 December 2023 | CSRD: measuring with impact - The final meeting will focus on the relationship between compassionate entrepreneurship and CSRD legislation and measuring, reporting and steering for compassionate entrepreneurship.
Final meeting | Friday 9 February 2024 | C-level professionals from participating companies share results and perspectives on cohuman enterprise (closed event).
Besides the four meetings, the in-company master class on compassionate entrepreneurship is part of the programme. So you can immediately increase support from your colleagues and put theory into practice. Upon participation, a suitable date will be discussed with you;
The master class is a practical half-day in-company workshop aimed at accelerating the achievement of social and societal objectives. Leading and organising your organisation from a compassionate mindset makes all the difference. During the master class, you will, among other things, actively work on skills needed for organising humanity in your organisation. You also work in small groups on a case study, choosing one of the themes that fits your organisation (issue), such as diversity & inclusion, procurement or employee participation.
This masterclass is facilitated by The Way of Compassionate Entrepreneurship.
A unique feature of this programme is that you can participate together with a (changing) colleague. This strengthens cooperation with your colleagues and helps to create more support in your organisation. And because you work on a common challenge in a fixed group, there is room to delve deeper into the theme, both theoretically and practically. We also use a digital platform to exchange data, documentation and experiences - also outside the scheduled meetings. You can also find participants here, with whom you can spar about implementation issues. So you really do become part of a fellow entrepreneurial community!
At the end of the community of practice, you will not only know what compassionate entrepreneurship means, but you will also be inspired to embed the thinking within your organisation.
Prof Dr Harry Hummels, professor of Ethics, Organisations and Society at Maastricht University and founder of the thinking
Suzanne Ekel, programme manager Humanitarian Economics at Goldschmeding Foundation

And more experts and experts by experience related to the themes
